2009-2011

Our Humble Beginnings

Founded by two horticulture graduates, Botanica Studio began as a weekend balcony-garden side project in a Lisbon courtyard.
March 2011

An Agency is Born

After our first published feature in Gardens Illustrated, we opened a proper studio space and a small on-site nursery.
December 2015

Transition to Full Service

Today our team of six designers, arborists and stonework specialists serves clients across Portugal, Spain and southern France.
July 2020

Phase Two Expansion

In 2025 we launched the Botanica Field School — short residencies for designers learning native-plant techniques.
